    Coppers Barrel Gin

A New Expression of a Classic Spirit
Transformed By Time... Rich & Warm
Award-Winning Must-Have For Gin Collectors & Whiskey Lovers

A barrel-finished gin, with rich wood flavors, mellowed juniper and warm notes of cinnamon, vanilla and cardamom.

    Handcrafted & Small Batch

Coppers Barrel Gin is a unique gin, transformed by time. This gin is a barrel-finished version of our popular Coppers American Style Gin. The crisp flavors of the hand-picked wild juniper berries, citrus peel and coriander are transformed by time spent in charred American oak bourbon barrels to ultimately give this gin an inviting amber tone and a wonderfully smooth finish. Years of barrel aging in our Vermont climate mellows the gin to a whiskey-like spirit, with only a slight nose of juniper, and mid-palate warmth from notes of cinnamon, vanilla and cardamom. Excellent neat or over a few cubes of ice, or create a new expression of a classic gin or whiskey cocktail. A must-have for gin collectors and whiskey-lovers alike. Coppers Barrel Gin is a new expression of a classic spirit.

    Distiller’s Note

Coppers Barrel Gin begins with our more traditional Coppers American Gin. We use a selection of botanicals that go well with the barrel-aging process. The Vermont climate (a cycle through the seasons) and the relatively dry conditions contribute to the transformation which takes place in the barrel. We age the gin for a number of years until the gin takes on a wonderful amber color. The taste is elevated with rich woody notes and a mellowing of the juniper that typically leads a gin. With the juniper softened, we bring forward the other botanical notes, like cinnamon, vanilla, cardamom and coriander. Because the gin is aged, the mid-palate gives way to an unexpectedly long finish. This is one of my favorite craft spirits we make here in the distillery. The combination of methods and ingredients are surprising and delightful. Alc. 43% by Vol. (85 Proof)

    Tasting Notes

Mixologists' favorite. Mellow juniper, rich woody notes and warm cinnamon and vanilla. Medium body; smooth finish.

Copper color, aged gin. Dry wood aromas hit the nose first, followed by hints of cinnamon and vanilla. The barrel flavor carries through the mid-palate, with notes of cardamom and coriander early on. A vibrant, medium body with compelling notes of vanilla and peppery, caramelized pineapple, followed by mellow juniper and mint for an incredibly smooth finish, and a light floral aftertaste. Drink neat or in a classic bourbon, gin or rum cocktail.

    Drink Concepts

Drink neat or with a single cube. Try in a classic bourbon or rum cocktail.

Coppers Barrel Gin is smooth and so easy to drink, it nearly glides over the palate. This gin does well on its own or with a cube of ice. Though it's a mixologist's favorite! The charr from the barrel-aging process adds an element of caramelization which compliments the parts of a traditionally bourbon or rum cocktail.

Signature Cocktail: Coppers Barrel Old Fashioned

    Mixologist's Favorite: Quechee Paper Balloon

Something To Make At Home: Coppers Hot & Stormy

"A nice gin transition for rum drinkers..." (International Review of Spirits 2017)

... The flavor is quite nice. Vanilla custard early. Towards the finish you get some hints of the spice from the nose... Incredibly smooth and easy to drink. It practically glides over the palate. (Review theginisin.com)
