    Jauma "Sand on Schist" Chenin Blanc 2016

    $ 40.99 $ 29.00

    We feel very privileged to be allocated these wines.
    James Erskine of Jauma Wines in South Australia, is crafting wines with incredible vitality, sex appeal and dangerous drinkability. These wines reflect place, soul, funk, passion and this it be declared, a new zeitgeist! He picks on acids first and foremost, when the acid makes the transition away from hard-edged and softens a touch is the day to pick. He is looking for a welcoming comfort in the fruit and not tight fruit as his use of stems during fermentation will add more tension. He never utilizes pumpovers or punchdowns but rather letting the fruit sit gently on the stems and skins for a while.

    This 100% Chenin Blanc is a gorgeous expression of terroir: seventy year old vines from sandy and schist soils, revealing a sweet red apple palate that is perfectly balanced by razor sharp acidity and minerality.
