  • Duncan Taylor Caperdonich 20 Year Single Cask "The Single Series " | Mash&Grape

    Duncan Taylor

    Duncan Taylor Caperdonich 20 Year Single Cask "The Single Series "

    $ 357.99

    The "Single" series from Duncan Taylor celebrates exceptional casks from rare or closed distilleries. Their tasting panel will only bottle a single-cask under the distillery name if it is a cask of the highest quality, with other casks designated to be blended.

    Caperdonich used to be Glen Grant's sister distillery. It was purchased by Pernod Ricard and deemed redundant. Now considered a great loss to the Scotch connoisseur community, even independent bottlings are increasingly difficult to come by.

    This bottling is from 1992, aged for 20 years in Cask # 46219 and bottled at 54.9% ABV. 243 bottles resulted from this barrel and this one is bottle number 138.

    We will now let Peter Currie from Duncan Taylor tell you more about it:

    Nose - sweet caramel, crème brulee, icing sugar and french toast, with furniture polish, leather and dried orange peel.
    Palate - Thick and creamy, rich orange liquor, chocolate and spicy oak.
    Finish - Sightly dry finish with lingering spice and creamy citrus notes. Stunning, just stunning.
